This is solvable without dropping record-level indexing: Hudi already has a partition-scoped RECORD_LEVEL_INDEX alongside the global one, same for BLOOM/SIMPLE vs GLOBAL_BLOOM/GLOBAL_SIMPLE. We just require a non-global index type for tables with cold partitions, so lookups stay scoped to the partition path on the incoming record and never need RLI entries for cold partitions. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
