voonhous opened a new pull request, #20488:
URL: https://github.com/apache/hudi/pull/20488
### Describe the issue this Pull Request addresses
RFC-99 is still listed as UNDER REVIEW, but its core has shipped, and the
remaining items either belong to other RFCs or are not planned. Closing it with
an explicit scope keeps the open schema RFCs (RFC-88, RFC-104) from overlapping.
### Summary and Changelog
- Add a "Scope outcome" section to RFC-99:
- Delivered: the `HoodieSchema` API (#14265), the phase 1 consolidation
onto it (#14263), and the VARIANT, VECTOR and BLOB types.
- Moved: the remaining logical types (TINYINT, SMALLINT, unsigned,
FLOAT16, ...), translation layers and Avro-free internals go to RFC-88
(restructure proposed on #12795); type ids under NBCC go to RFC-104.
- Future work: Arrow in-memory representation, metadata-table schema
tracking, SQL type DDL.
- Keep the type specification and interoperability tables as the reference
spec.
- Replace the original implementation plan with what was built and where the
rest went.
- Mark RFC-99 COMPLETED in `rfc/README.md`.
Needs agreement from RFC-99's other proposers and its approvers before merge.
