I am honestly not sure why we need this change. Even Spark follows the same page naming https://spark.apache.org/downloads.html. If at all, one thing we should do is move the older releases to archive like Spark has done, and I have seen similar pattern in other OSS projects too. As the number of releases continue to increases, it does not make much sense to continue to list all of them on the download page.
