Worth linking #3051 here, since it's not referenced from this issue and it's where the real problem showed up. The short version: adding rename_all = "snake_case" to the snapshot enums changes what the HTTP /snapshot endpoint returns, and the SDKs depend on that, so it's a breaking change. The alternative tried there was per-variant serde(alias), which keeps the wire format but means serialisation and deserialisation aren't symmetric.
