Thanks for the clear write-up and the reproducer. Could you switch the test to the `#[ignore = "#4294: ..."]` form you mentioned? That matches the other known-open simulator cases, keeps the default branch green, and the test still runs with `cargo test -- --ignored`. Whoever fixes #4294 can then drop the ignore in the same PR.
