thanks for writing up the design, and sorry, bad timing. we decided to remove the purge API from the server and all SDKs, it's just too much complexity to keep correct with replication and recovery. i'll open the removal pr today. this bug goes away with it, so closing as not planned. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
