It's a strange location to have nvcc at. Did you install the cuda libraries also to `/usr/local`? Usually they are at `/usr/local/cuda`. The exact search behavior is specified in https://gitlab.kitware.com/cmake/cmake/-/blob/master/Modules/FindCUDAToolkit.cmake After making the change in https://github.com/apache/incubator-mxnet/issues/17761#issuecomment-594845017 , I don't think it's a MXNet issue
