In that case, I leave it up to the community to decide how to proceed. If we decide not to incorporate the parameter natively and go with the _mul_scalar layer solution, I would at least request a documentation change to SoftmaxOutput pointing this out as an example use case of chaining these two layers, given how prominent it is.
