It would be good to get this large initial chunk of work in so other improvements can be made in a more incremental process. @iblis17 - On a separate note, I noticed that the Julia package doesn't have a listing here https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MXNET like the Clojure and Scala ones. Maybe you can add one?
