Regarding unfinalized APIs I agree we can be somewhat flexible as long as we communicate to users that these are experimental APIs in some way (have them in contrib, protect them with build flags). @ZhennanQin @apeforest Would it make sense to cast this manually for the time being to unblock the PR development?
