Seems to have been caused by missing Maven dependencies, including the
superclass ({{FlowExecution}})—the scanning, and this error, had occurred
before I had a chance to run a priming build. So error badges in the editor
were appropriate; throwing an uncaught {{AssertionError}} was not.
