Stephen Ranger commented on NETBEANS-760:
-----------------------------------------
So the issue is with using Gephi and I'm assuming it's because I have an AMD
GPU and Mesa changed the way it names AMD GPU's so JOGL doesn't work any longer
without a patch (last I checked it hadn't been included in a released version
of JOGL).
Here's the original issue

And the bugzilla with the patch (which we have used in our own OpenGL/JOGL
library with success)

> Result 2 when running NB Platform on 18.04
> ------------------------------------------
>
> Key: NETBEANS-760
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-760
> Project: NetBeans
> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: Stephen Ranger
> Priority: Major
>
> After upgrading my machine to Ubuntu 18.04 (might have been earlier as I
> haven't tried to run our software in a few weeks and I'm the only Ubuntu
> developer) trying to run our NetBeans Platform application results in a
> "[exec] Result: 2" exit code when on the splash screen and on the "Starting
> Modules" step.
>
> The NetBeans docs on the web says that Result 2 is due to "Cannot create
> temporary directory" but it doesn't state where that directory is being
> created at and I can't find any information as to why it's occurring. Even
> turning on ant verbose and debug modes don't give me any indication.
>
> If you need any other info please let me know. Currently using NetBeans
> Platform 8.2 and NetBeans itself does launch properly.
