Marcin Jamszolik commented on NETBEANS-765: ------------------------------------------- [~lkishalmi] Thank you for sharing your experience. Indeed it's a shame that HiDPI is still quite a mess. Despite the messy situation however, have you seen or tried Intellij IDEA IDE on HiDPI? I am stunned by the fact that Intellij was able to pull off a flawless HIDPI 4k support out of the box, no questions asked and they are also Swing UI based, just like Netbeans. I have looked around their github source code for the HiDIPI pieces and it's all right there. Tired it on both Windows 10 and Fedora 28 Gnome. Frankly, given the experience with most Swing/Netbeans apps, I did not think it was possible to be able to scale so flawlessly. All icons, bars, separators, buttons, margins, padding, tree views, context menus.. All work out of the box. Based on that I refuse to believe this issue is in the hands of a JDK and OS alone. I think Netbeans Community should do something about it or face extinction. Thanks you! !Screenshot from 2018-07-07 21-21-32.jpg! > HiDPI resolution of 3840x2160 results in tiny icons and text fields that are > too small for the text within > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: NETBEANS-765 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-765 > Project: NetBeans > Issue Type: Bug > Components: ide - UI > Affects Versions: 9.0 > Reporter: Sidney Lins > Priority: Major > Labels: HiDPI > Attachments: Screenshot from 2018-05-28 19-29-19.png, Screenshot from > 2018-05-28 19-29-19.png, Screenshot from 2018-05-28 19-40-36.png, Screenshot > from 2018-07-07 21-21-32.jpg > > > Please, refer to [https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=252452] to > get more information. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v7.6.3#76005) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: commits-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: commits-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists
