No, that doesn't work, that's the point. You can have a look at the Bugzilla
threads, where there are some additional info, but the main points are in this
thread too.
* Netbeans runs for a long time.
* Then suddenly the line number disappear (their place is still visible, but
it's white).
* The "Show Line Numbers" menu element remains checked (clicking it again
removes the checkmark as I remember, but the GUI does not change).
* And the "Find" function (Ctrl+F) does not work anymore.
This is what we know. This bug is present at least since 8.1, happened in 8.2,
and was sighted in 9 and 10 as well.
