Effects somewhat weird: With auto-scanning disabled, NB is usually more usable
for longer periods of time: It's stayed up for an entire day or two now.
However, sometimes after a reload it still seems to bog down in a very short
space of time and take >500ms to respond to keypresses. Will go back into the
profiler to try to figure out why.
