Peter Toye created NETBEANS-2769:
------------------------------------

Summary: Allow user to change default Java platform
                 Key: NETBEANS-2769
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-2769
             Project: NetBeans
          Issue Type: Improvement
         Environment: Windows 7
            Reporter: Peter Toye

It's really annoying - when Java gets updated there's no easy way of changing
the default JDK used by NB. This has been around for ages - there are
StackExchange conversations about this from way back.

I know there's the hack of adding a jdkhome to the netbeans.conf, but this is a
bit dangerous and needs admin access which isn't available to all users in a
commercial environment.

Just a button saying "make default" would help enormously.
