Christian Lenz commented on NETBEANS-2940:

> Probably best to always only have those projects open that you actively use
> in your work.
TLDR;
This is not the way he is working, this is not the way I'm working and I guess
this is not the way some other people is working as you suggested. So please
don't try to change our working strategy. We all have different working
strategy and there is not the right one. The right one is that one which is
best for themself. Yes, it could be that less projects is better than more but
he had a same environment which he is working everyday with. Just saying, don't
want to discuss that again. As you can see in a this thread, there are some
others who have similar "lots" of projects, from the same type or different,
open in parallel:

Back to topic
So it seems that there is a problem with PHP + HTML5/JS when you open a lot of
those project types? As some others said, they don't have problems with a lot
of maven or ant projects. Could it be PHP or HTML5/JS related?

> Very often Netbeans would start consuming high CPU resources for the job of
> Checking for external changes, which sits in suspended status. If you click
> on the cross and manually cancel that job, the CPU will keep being consumed.
> The only way to stop this is to completely close Netbeans. Upon closing, it
> will say that it is still checking for external changes.
