Shevek commented on NETBEANS-2999:
----------------------------------
I can't reproduce it reliably, and I don't have a profiling snapshot because
the entire IDE hung up, but I do have a heap-dump from when it happened, which
I can't share because proprietary, but I'm happy to answer queries based on
what it contains.
I know that's not ideal, but ... I hope that a set of OQL queries or something
might give a useful answer for you?
I wonder if the business with lots of pointers into /tmp is a regular repro -
I'll try with another IDE over some of my OSS projects, they're all basically
the same, and see if I can get the characteristics, even if not the failure.
> NetBeans has consumed entire heap with WeakListenerImpl$ListenerReference

> See image. A random sampling suggests that they're all calling
> FileChangeListener.
> Randomly sampling: ListenerReference.weakListener.source is a FolderObj on
> /tmp, or a pointer into .cache/netbeans/11.1index
