I am the author of the [*EditorConfig NetBeans
Plugin*|https://github.com/welovecoding/editorconfig-netbeans] and had to
deprecate the project to focus on new tasks. I think everyone from the plugin
project would be more than happy if the Apache Software foundation would reuse
the existing code to integrate it in the core NetBeans product. Our code is MIT
licensed and can be used by others.
