NetBeans is, in that context, simply a GUI on top of GitHub. If GitHub does not
work in NetBeans, it will not work on the command line either.
Probably if you use “sudo” on the command line with GitHub, it will work.
Therefore it is again a question of permissions being messed up when you
installed Big Sur.
