I can not explain this behaviour, but attached is a screenshot displaying the 
formatting issue.

This is hovering over the left yellow triangle.  The right scrollbar line 
displays correctly (as a single line).

The difference is that I loaded the window last night, when replying to you.  
This morning the same NetBeans window displays as shown in the screenshot.

Resizing the window makes no difference. but reloading the file reverts to the 
multi-line display of the message.
