Tom Watson commented on NETBEANS-5703:
--------------------------------------

I've put a fix into Equinox that will be available with the 2021-06 release of
Equinox/Eclipse platform in maven central. It appears netbeans is using a
rather old version of Equinox here. Hopefully an update can be made to the
latest.

> Can we pass in -Djava.security.manager=allow?

> [JEP-411|https://openjdk.java.net/jeps/411] suggests to pass enable security
> manager on when launching the Java process via:
> {quote}enabled on the command line, via {{java -Djava.security.manager}} or
> {{java -Djava.security.manager=...}}, then issue a warning message at startup.
> {quote}
> Does that work? E.g. can NetBeans 12.4 be launched with such option?
