Was this a once in a life time event, or did it persist? Prior to the NPE, a
bunch of Network access failures, as well as failures to access the Maven index
are visible. So the NPE might not be related to your actions at all, but to the
Maven subsystem trying to build the index in background, but getting rebuked
from the firewall.
If you are sitting in a company network sporting a repo on its own, you might
want to set it up as a proxy fur central. Read up on that on
[http://maven.apache.org|http://maven.apache.org/]
Let us know whether this was the case, so we may close the issue.
