When attempting to test this ticket, I was seeing the same behavior reported in
NIFI-938 prior to applying the patch.
Applied the patch. Rebuilt with contrib-check profile activated. Re-ran the
test and the issues were gone. As you suspected these tickets appear to refer
to the same issue.
