Joseph Witt commented on NIFI-1097:
-----------------------------------
Mark/Andre: Thanks for the comments and updates. Sounds like Payne-monster is
all over switching to the new producer so that is great. It is important we
don't claim successful delivery unless we have ever reason to believe it was
and with the new producer apparently we can use that future to know.
Mark: Please be sure to consider NIFI-1095 in this. If we have to punt that
then ok but let's be sure to document well where we leave off.
Thanks
Joe

> Currently, PutKafka uses the old Producer API, which provides several
> limitations. The most critical of these limitations is that the asynchronous
> send does not provide an indication of its success. As a result, when
> PutKafka is configured to send asynchronously, it will always route the
> FlowFIle to 'success' even if it does not send the data to Kafka.
