Yeah I wouldn't consider this patch merge worthy. It's more of a proof of
concept to see if the general concept is attractive enough to make a more fully
fledged implementation. I worked on this quite a long time ago, but I would be
open to finishing it up after further discussion and/or open to someone else
running with it.
