I've created the JIRA for adding the distinction between being processed and
waiting while being queued [1].
Also, stopping the follow-on processor (and waiting for the active threads to
complete) should allow the FlowFiles to be purged successfully. I'm not sure we
can safely delete a FlowFile that is actively being processed by the downstream
component.
