Not a fan of the V# taxonomy on processors and would like to avoid these moving 
forward for the reasons you mention.  I realize we need versioning at some 
point, but this is not a good way forward.

I think your proposed approach sounds fair.  Short cycle release seems like it 
could work out well.  To wit, there are several PRs that we did not have the 
cycles to cover that bring a lot of great functionalities, especially with AWS 
related technologies and services, that could make meaningful additions with 
sufficient review cycles from the community.
