Steve Rysavy commented on NIFI-1827:
------------------------------------
This error is appearing in 0.6.1 as well. We're getting a continually
increasing partition count until the processor is reset, so this seems to
validate the section of code above. It may be worthwhile to check the local
variable's bounds before returning as well.
{code}
private int next(int numberOfPartitions) {
if (index >= numberOfPartitions) {
index = 0;
}
int indexToReturn = index++;
return indexToReturn >= numberOfPartitions : 0 : indexToReturn;
}
{code}

> PutKafka attempts to write to non-existent partition. I have not verified
> yet but I think the problem can be triggered by deleting a topic while the
> processors is running, and then recreating the topic with the same name.
> Since the problem has occurred I have not been able to make it go away. I've
> recreated the processor in the flow but the new processor exhibits the same
> behavior.
