This ticket has taken several directions. The "Patch Available" fixes the
issues with Remove Trailing Newlines. However, I have created a new Pull
Request which includes both improved RTN behavior as well as the original
intent of this ticket: adding size limit to splits and allowing header marker
character(s).
Just wanted to document in this ticket what the PR covers.
