Andre commented on NIFI-1502:

Maturity - Correct. As their OpenWSMan page says "wseventsink - a sample
implementation for a WS-Eventing event sink". We don't need to use that project
to achieve the same result, the project only displays a valid way of achieving
it. Think of it as a sample NiFi Processor, not at NiFi itself.
Activity - OpenWS Man is an actively maintained project with 2k + commits.
License - Agree the project is a bit messy in regards to their licensing,
however from what I gather they are [BSD
licenses|https://github.com/Openwsman/openwsman/blob/master/package/openwsman.spec.in#L131]
Cross-platform - Not sure I understand, I believe Debian and RHEL 6 (and
derivatives Centos, Scientific, etc) both come with libwsman1 pre-compiled.

> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: Andre
>
> While a lot of the use cases using NiFi orbit the IoT, Unix Cloud type
> workloads, I suspect NiFi would be a great fit for data collections of
> business critical platforms running Windows.
> A good example of this type of workload would be ATMs running Windows 7 and
> even run Windows XP, or collection of Event Log error events on Windows
> platforms (including Azure).
