In general I'm in favor of this. One thing I think we should be mindful of 
however is most people using the cpp version are currently compiling the source 
on the desired device (sometimes embedded) that might not have internet access. 
I still think its a good idea but we should probably define some best practices 
for cross compiling minifi cpp on another machine that would have internet 
access before we take the plunge. That could be something as simple as a blog 
of even another "example" in the examples directory showing how to do that.
