Confirmed that compilation fails with spdlog 0.13.0, but works with a snapshot
of the spdlog master taken 7/10/2017. Suggest we just use that snapshot until
the next release of spdlog comes out, unless we find some issues with spdlog in
testing. Once the next spdlog release comes out, we can move to that.
