It looks like this ticket was never closed out, but the work was done a very
long time ago - for 0.0.1, I believe. I can see that the work was performed by
looking at the PersistentProvenanceRepository class, in the purgeOldEvents()
method. In the case that removing the file or removing events from the index
fails, the File is not added to the 'removed' set, and as a result it will be
retried the next time that we call purgeOldEvents().
Closing this ticket as Fixed - if I missed something, please let me know.
