This patch comes from https://github.com/ARM-software/LLVM-embedded-toolchain-for-Arm/blob/main/samples/src/cpp-baremetal-semihosting-prof/proflib.c. Its implementation is more concise than rt.profile and focuses on gcov functions. Can you consider merging it?
