The [Forbidden API's|https://github.com/policeman-tools/forbidden-apis] plugin
is very useful for findimg invocations of method/class/field signatures and
failing builds based on violations of some safe guards.
I think the best way to go at this is probably module-by-module as there are a
ton of errors.
This is a parent issue for managing codebase compliance.
