Generally, requested recurrence model implementation should meet the iCalendar
Object Specification which is described in RFC2445
(http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2445.txt).
You are correct that GUI should be updated so that user is able to
create/update/delete/etc. recurring series (I am not sure is we need
acept/decline invitation or not for now) and separate instanses from the serie.
You can try Google or MS Outlook calendar to get the impression how it showld
look.
The room created for the calendar event should be available periodically, for
example, once a week at some particular time. At any other time nobody should
be able to enter the room. Currently there is no such possibility in
OpenMeetings. Room can be available for unlimeted period or for some single
period of time only. So, changes in the internal architecture, database and
admin should be made.
E-mail notifications and reminder about the recurrence events should be sent
correctly.
Corresponding changes for the import/export process should be made.
