I think the logic should be the next:
scale and shift function remember the previous value of
this.area.transformation and put it into onSetTransformation call
onSetTransfgormation computes the new value of grid boundaries (minX, maxX and
so on) and check if they are within the dimensions. If not, then the previous
value of this.area.transformation and other values are restored.
