Linas Redeckis commented on OPENMEETINGS-547:
---------------------------------------------
Yes, that is the same thing I'm asking my self. maybe not postponing or
scheduling, but changing the priority of ffmpeg program. from 100% CPU usage to
something like 30%. but that is OS side task. but maybe OM can set this thing
itself.
also, i don't think that happens to others, but after recording longer video
(30+ min) my slow server/computer does take time to process it. but java
doesn't wait long enough and says:
-process: generateFullFLV
-command: /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg -y -itsoffset blahblah..
-exception: java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException
-error: null
and there is no button "Try converting again". i have to connect to shell and
enter all failed commands by hand to convert a video.
conclusion: use fast multiprocessor computers with loads of ram, and fast ssd's
: )

> It would be nice to have deferred recordings converting possibility in
> OpenMeetings.
> Right now recording processing and converting starts just after its stopping.
> It can slow down the conferences whish are running at the same moment.
> So, my suggestion is to add a possibility to schedule the start of the
> converting process later.
