The child JVM entry point is a nested class of the test, and the test runs only where ONNX Runtime has the CUDA provider, so it is skipped in opennlp-dl instead of passing there without checking anything. The outcome is checked directly: the provider was added, or ONNX Runtime could not load the CUDA provider library. Any other failure, the missing default logger included, fails the test. The child output is written to a file, so a child JVM that does not finish is stopped after the timeout. With the AbstractDL of main the test fails with "Attempt to use DefaultLogger but none has been registered". With the fix the child reports the provider as added on an RTX 4080 SUPER (CUDA 12.8), and a CUDA load failure on a host with an older CUDA runtime.
