first draft of 2018 Q3; \n renamed the Board reports to the layout
<year>_<quarter>_boardReport. Also Reports dated back by One quarter so it fits
to the period they report on.

+## ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

+No Changes to report. We did not do any activity to recruit new commiters.

+## WEBSITES & INFRASTRUCTURE
+
+We are processing the migration towards new VMs and taking over the
maintenance from infra for these systems.
+We have targeted to finish the migration of the Wikimedia platform by end of
June, in order to proceed with testing.
+Forums have been planned to processed in a longer term.
+However the progress in the migration relative to our expectations of the
forum is better, and the Wikimedia is a bit behind.
+In total we are satisfied with the progress in total, since for both topics we
see no show stoppers.
+
+Forum is currently in public testing, and recives incremental bugfixes.
+MediaWiki is expected to go into public testing on the weekend from 13 to 15
July.
+
+We want to thank Infra for their support in this toppic. We are very happy
with their supported provided.
+
+## MARKETING
+The german community is producing new flyers for the Booth team in german and
english. We are looking for transaltors into other languages.
+(French has been discussed.)

+## SECURITY
+Fixes for security reports waiting for a release. We have not been able to
bring them on the way, due to volunteer availability and topics we work on.
+We have sheduled the release for July, which will be called 4.1.6.

+We are also clearifying if some old reports are valid, due the fact that even
the Reports forgot the status about those.
+
+## DOWNLOAD INFRASTRUCTURE
+We had a query from ODSN.net if they can become a partner besides or instead
of sourceforge. After a brief discussion, we have turned the offer down.
+The reasons were:
+# We did not like the style the proposal has been brought to us. It reminded
us to much on other controverse conflicts we have to face.
+# OSDN.net is a split from SourceForge. We do not want to take part in the
conflict.
+
+We have reported our concerns in the past about the issues SourceForge
currently has. We discussed other options we have.
+Especially we had a Discussion a fruitfull discussion with Infra, to take the
Download infrastructure for the Basics within Apache.
+A Yearly cost of around 12 500$ has been estimated to move the download offer
for OpenOffice in house. We have excluded the extensions.
+We are currently waiting for a market analysis on other Options on the market,
before picking the discussion up again.
+The only concern raised (by me) is that we need to strtengthen communications
with infra to avoid inner conflicts. I do not see the volunteers at this point
for this.
+But I think these are not unsolvable issue, if the project really wants to
make the move.
+
+##BRANDING
+OpenOffice.de is currently not progressing. Our research found no evidence of
malware. (What are our next steps here??)

+
+This report has been send in with a month delay due to full time shedules in
January.
+The Project did a release in November, containing bugfixes and a security fix.
+The development regained activity concerning the modernization of the code and
build environment itself.
+One result of this development has been that the process for releasing 4.2.0
has build momentum again.

+There are no current topics to be concerned with.

+
+We are working in parallel on 2 release lines.
+4.2.0 is the next minor release, planned to be released into a beta phase. We
have missed our goal on going into the beta in 2018. We managed only to solve
+the biggest blockers. We expect a good moment for Q1 2019.
+4.1.x is still in maintenance. We are discussing a prallel 4.1.7 release. The
motivation in maintaining the 4.1.x line is not very high. We will shut it down
+with a stable release of 4.2.x

hope they will comit something soon.

in maintenance by the developer team.
+We thank infra for their patience and support.

+We have initiated a new VM payed from the Project Funds in 2018 Q2, for a
reviving the OpenGrok Service. We are still in the process of setting the
system up.

has been rejected. On short notice we have recieved that the documenters room is

+The German booth team will attend to more conferences in germany.

+We are in contect with Apple, which have asked for non public of the
communication for now. They have announced to us that Apple plans to tighten
their security,
+but they want to give OpenSource projects heads up to prepare for this step.
We are loosly in contact with Apple Community manager Michael Wong in order to
get
+OpenOffice ready for the step that Apple wants to make.
+
+## SECURITY
+We had in Q4 Issues we are working on.
+1) The security list is quite inactive. The team that is handling security is
busy on other things. New people have stepped up, but are less efficient in
+processing security issues.
+2) The announciation of the CVE we have released in 4.1.6 has taken ages.
Mainly we had issues with the Questions, What to report wehere and how. The
Apache
+Security list tried to support, but it has been still difficult. We have a
follow up on this in Q1 report. (The Announciation is solved by now, but this
+report is on 2018 Q4.
+3) OpenOffice is affected by a CVE wich hits public on 31.01.2019. We have not
been able to solve it in 2018. The research point so far that we have another
bug
+interfearing with the attack, making the abuse very difficult if not
impossible. Because it's sensibility the following development has taken place
in January.
+We were able to fix the suspected interfering bug, in January. Further
research on the CVE has not been conducted, but are planned as soon as
volunteers find time.
+
+##BRANDING
+On last report there has been the request to explain more on OpenOffice.de
+OpenOffice.de is a website maintained by Arne König, who is not a member of
the Apache OpenOffice community. This is stated clearly on his website.
+We are notified on abusage of his updaters, and Arne König has a bad renown.
We could not proove anything on the acusations so far. The PMC would like to
+take over the Webside name, too. We believe with the URL in controll of the
PMC, the irritations in the user community will drop.
+We have made some steps in 2018, to confront Arne König.
+The topic is still in our focus, and we will take further steps in (Q1?) 2019.
