Rebased onto the updated #19307 branch and current master; this PR was conflicting and is now clean. The only conflict was an import collision in `OpenStructColumnSplitter` — master added `com.google.common.base.Utf8` for sparse-entry sizing while this branch added `Preconditions` for the per-key `codecSpec` rejection. Both are used in unrelated parts of the file, so both imports are kept; no logic changed (`git range-diff` shows the second commit byte-identical and only this import hunk differing in the first). Verified after the rebase: `pinot-segment-local` builds, and 257 tests pass across `ForwardIndexHandlerTest`, `ForwardIndexCreatorFactoryTest`, `ForwardIndexTypeTest`, `TableConfigUtilsTest`, `OpenStructColumnSplitterTest` and `OpenStructIndexTypeTest`. _🤖 Addressed by [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code)_ -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
