@thinker0 - when I discussed removing this feature with @merlimat, he mentioned that Load Balancers and DNS can solve this network routing problem (this is in the mailing list link I posted above). All that is required for the initial broker discovery is a stable endpoint to target your lookup requests towards. Any broker can handle a lookup request. Once the request is handled, the client will get the topic's host broker's advertised address to target, thus bypassing the load balancer.
