I'm still think that path 1 is not quite a good idea. I wouldn't say that pull #4031 isn't working, the only case we didn't cover so far is a `reset()` by time in the middle of the topic, in fact, the `reset()` is happening but not at the expected position, is happening on a previous position, which would result in a duplicates messaged which I don't think is a critical situation, and also I think that normal Consumers are facing this issue too. @sijie Any thought on this?
