   ### Modifications
   
   1. Update links on the doc landing page in previous versions 2.10.x, 2.9.x, 
and 2.8.x, to sync with the latest (master).

   2. Remove the Navigation image and section on the doc landing page since it 
no longer accurately represents the majority of the docs and is confusing 
users.

   3. Fix minor issues found in the improvement process.
