**@snarayan** I did try scale down and decommission the bookie and scale up again but still it is same issue exists! **@Gaurav Ashok** did try scale down - when you scale down, what happens to the disks? Are they cleaned / deleted? The error seems like is saying that the disks that you are coming up with has old data that bookie was not expecting. The bookie expects no existing directory / data.
