**From @merlimat** To @David K answer’s, I would add that there would be no point in doing geo-replication if there were no such compatibility. During live upgrades, there will always be clusters in different versions (as well as brokers in different versions within one cluster). So, it definitely works and it’s definitely tested. It’s also important to note that even a very old Pulsar client will be able to connect to a new broker, and vice-versa.
