Based on my testing, it's not clear how the function association works. Sometimes all functions see the same topics and sometimes some functions see certain topics. Everything is based on keys, but it's not clear at how how parallelism works outside a kubernetes scenario. I'm pretty sure this field was meant only for clusters and it should be left at 1 otherwise.
