Regarding [the code you wrote
above](https://github.com/apache/pulsar/pull/24938#discussion_r2517541713) ,
there is an example:
- ledgers: `[{ledger-1: 10 entris}, {ledger-2: 10 entries}]`
- `position-1`: `2 : -1`, which is the same as `2: 9`
- `position-2`: `2 : 0`
- the correct result of comparing is `-1`
- but your code will return `0`
