@merlimat Would you mind taking a look at the comments in this issue? It seems that the flakiness might be related to recent [PIP-45](https://github.com/apache/pulsar/wiki/PIP-45%3A-Pluggable-metadata-interface) changes. The stack trace with 1024 stack frames seems concerning. The same lines seem to repeat there, looking like a very deep recursion.
